“My name is Kiana Atwell. I was interested in joining NGMP because I wanted to become a Nurse Practitioner and felt that being a part of this internship would help me better understand the healthcare field and grow my passion.
My favorite NGMP experience was shadowing in the hospital for the first time because I was so nervous but after my first shift I felt at ease and enjoyed being in the NICU watching over babies.
I will use watch I have learned from NGMP in my future education by remembering all of the different healthcare professions I was able to meet and learn about and apply it to my passion to further my education and career.”
Ryan Mohammad Mamdouh El Sebaiy
NGMP Student
My name is Ryan El Sebaiy, and I’ve been in the NGMP program for two years. When I first heard about the program, I was excited because I knew I’d get real-life experience in the medical field and actually see what my future career could look like. Throughout the program, I’ve learned about a lot of different jobs beyond just doctors and nurses, including roles focused on mental and emotional health and even HR-related work in healthcare.
My favorite experience was shadowing the RT nurse at DMC. I learned a lot from my guide, and it really opened my eyes to a whole new field I hadn’t considered before. Overall, NGMP has helped me better understand my options and has shown me a clearer path toward careers that fit my interests and work style.

What interested me more in the NGMP Program was how they always brought in a new speaker and how they were mostly in the medical field but they all had very different career paths in the medical field.
One thing I learned was how to take a pulse with one of our trips that we tour a college.
My favorite ngmp experience was the rotations in Doctors I felt like it was so cool visiting all the different departments and seeing how different they all were to each other.
I would apply what i learned in ngmp in my future career by keeping in mind all the careers we did and it would help me choose what path i want to go towards in the medical field
Ayaan Patel
NGMP Student
Hi, my name is Ayaan Patel. I was drawn to NextGen MedPros because I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the variety of career paths available in healthcare. I knew that exploring programs like this would help me understand what I would like to pursue as a profession.
Upon my time in the program, I have learned the teamwork and collaboration that goes into patient care through shadowing healthcare professionals firsthand. Seeing how different healthcare professionals work hand in hand in providing the best quality of healthcare was really interesting for me.
Going forward, I hope to utilize my knowledge obtained from this program by making purposeful and informed decisions and enroll in a major that relates to my interests of becoming a healthcare professional.
Andrea Isabella Cortes
NGMP Student
Hi my name is Andrea Cortes, what interested me in NGMP was all the hands-on things we were able to do and all the experiences we were able to get from this program.
Some things I’ve learned is how people actually are in hospitals like nurses and stuff like that and how things work there.
My favorite experience being in the program was being able to shadow a L&D nurse. It was so interesting to see that.
I will be able to apply this to my life because I know what I like and what interests me especially since I got to experience a lot of different fields within nursing during my shadowing experience, that definitely helped narrow down what I would want to pursue in the future.
My name is Liliani Lucero,
This program caught my attention because it would allow me to get my foot through the door of healthcare. I would be able to hear the stories of those that actively work in the industry as well as see them work.
I have learned how to make connections with health professionals and how to navigate through the halls of hospital buildings.
Some of my favorite NGMP experiences has been going to Stan State and Davis with my friends I made in the program.
I will apply the skills i have learned in NGMP by communicating with future patients in a respectful and informative manner with professionalism
Camilla Rose Boles
NGMP Student
My name is Camilla Boles,
I was initially interested in this program because i thought it would be a cool opportunity and an in into the nursing world. I figured it would be a great way to learn more about this field and see if it’s really where i want to go with my career.
Ive learned many things through this two year program, how to distribute narcan, how to take blood pressure, how to talk to patients, how different nursing areas are ran, and many more valuable things.
I would say my favorite experience or part of this internship would be when i shadowed nurses and techs in the hospitals. So many of them were so awesome and sweet and really took the time to show me how things worked and why they did certain things the way that they did them. They gave me great tips on how to move forward in the future and how to handle the hardships that come with the job. I was able to get real first hand experience in the icu, emergency dept. and other areas in the hospitals and it was a really cool experience.
I plan to go to chico and i’m majoring in pre-nursing. My end game is to become a travel icu nurse. I was able to come to this conclusion after speaking with a travel nurse in the CVICU and she advised me to go into the icu due to higher hiring rates of icu nurses, so i think i was lucky to get her advice and follow it!
